Hair Tip of the Day!

Black hair needs to be washed every 3 days to a week. But no more than a week. That is a myth that black hair needs to washed every 2 weeks. Washing your hair frequently does not strip out natural oils from our hair and too much water does not strip moisture from our hair.Water is moisture. We need to have moisture to our hair which is the reason why we need to wash our hair every 3 days to a week. If you are always busy through the week and don't have the time to wash your hair every 3 days, then make sure you wash your hair every 7 days but no more than a week. But if you have the time, especially if you exercise a lot, you should wash your hair every 3 days. So, remember that myth about we shouldn't wash our hair a lot is untrue and washing our hair frequently is fact.

  1. quick question on this...I relax my hair about once every few months. I do exercise (p90x) so normally after an exercise, my hair is wet from sweat. So I normally just dry it out with my hand dryer and flat iron it again using african pride oil. Im afraid to actually wash it because it'll get dry again. Any advice?

  2. When you exercise, your hair becomes dry and looses moisture because of sweat. So I can see how you would be afraid to wash your hair because you already notice how dry your hair already is. So, you're probably thinking,"If I wash my hair , my hair will become more dry since it's already sweated out."

But really, washing your hair especially after you exercise brings back that moisture you lost from your hair. Water is moisture so you're never drying out your hair. So, my advice is that since you exercise, you should wash your hair every 3 days so lost moisture will be added back to your hair.
